Our patented fully adjustable short throw shifter is the product that defined us. Designed to eliminate all play and sloppiness, it transforms your driving experience. Performance Cables
One of the most common issues for manual Porsches is the shift cables—they're bound to break eventually. We designed our Performance Shift Cables as a permanent solution. Our cables are thicker for added strength and have full motion, snap-back-to-center capability, preventing bending and snapping. With billet aluminum rod ends for precise engagement and aluminum bulkheads with stainless steel mounting nuts, our cables eliminate any play. In almost a decade, we've never had a cable break on our customers.
Insulation Tubing and Wrench
We thought of everything when designing our products. While using high-quality billet aluminum, we anticipated potential extra noise from the cabin. To address this, our Transmission Bundle includes rubber silicone tubing that can be spiral cut and wrapped around our cables to dampen unwanted noise. We offer two connection options for the rod ends: plastic insert caps for street cars to avoid metal-on-metal sound, and metal rod ends with a circlip for maximum engagement on track cars. Our cables also feature custom-fit bulkheads that can be tightened precisely with the included Numeric Racing Wrench.

This is the second one I install in 2 caymans. Great design and easy install for me as a tech. I put one in my race car and a client and super happy with it, very smooth. My only wish would be taller would be nice in the race cars.
The install was not too bad, but video was limited for the 5 speed 987 install. After a good nights sleep, the necessary adjustments were straightforward and the result amazing. The feel is totally mechanical and bolt like. Huge improvement over the worn stock shifter and cables.
Just installed the shifter and cables which provide very precise guidance and locking. They significantly enhance sensations and should replace the OEM parts. Thanks for the development work NR!

Just fitted the Numeric shirt shifter:: game changer. Gear change is precise and magical, lifted the driving experience and removed the sloppy gear change to my 986 2000 Boxster S Live it.
Great product. It's rare to see an aftermarket product that is both better designed and better constructed than the Porsche original, but this is the case with the Numeric shifter. Very precise shifts with no slop. Huge improvement in the drivability of my 1999 Porsche Boxster race car. I would not hesitate to install this in my street cars either.
I had been considering a short shift upgrade for my Cayman S for some time and when the original shift cables snapped I researched the market for options and recommendations. Whilst there are cheaper options, they are clearly not as well engineered and I wanted a permanent solution. I have now driven about 600 miles with the new shift and it has transformed the driving experience. It has taken probably the only below par aspect of the 987 to a genuine highlight. Thanks to Numeric Racing for making such a high quality upgrade.

Installed the sport shifter, very easy job and huge improvement to the feel of shifting. Much tighter, more precise-feeling, chunkier. I have yet to install the cables, that is tbd on another weekend.
Great feel, better weight than factory. A little more effort and a little bit of noise is a great exchange for the precision afforded by the new shifter and cables. The install and adjustment with the provided guides isn't as difficult as it looks at first.

While not the easiest of projects, installing the Numeric shifter and cables was straight forward thanks to the numerous YouTube videos available for reference. The result is worth the effort and has completely changed the feel while aggressivly running through the gears. Just puts a smile on your face!
Fits and works perfect - as expected!!!
The shifter was very straightforward to install and really fits without any modifications needed. I found out my car already had the cables installed by a previous owner and Numeric was super helpful and I was able to just return those without any issues. The adjustable height of the shifter really let me dial in how I want my shifts.

The kit feels and looks fantastic. Installation is very annoying due to the packaging of the car but the special wrench is a MUST and makes it so much better, I can't imagine installing it without it. If you buy this, maybe get an extra bag of plastic caps on the same shipping for safety

This entire kit is very well put together, thought out, and high quality. The install was a bit difficult the first time (as always), but not too much for a DIYer. The adjustment directions for the connection at the transmission should be a little more specific about connecting both cables to the shifter first, then adjusting the trans side second to balance the two so you're not over extending the front treads, risking breakage later. The feel and shortness of the throw are excellent. It's tight and precise, requires some extra force, and carries only a small amount more NVH even without the cable covers. The price is hard to swallow for something of this nature, but it's also a Porsche based product, so expected. Very happy!
Excellent! Huge difference from the sloppy, vague, worn out stock shifter and cables. Was a bit concerned that it would be too short and notchy, but at the middle setting it’s just right.

It is just a matter of time before you experience a Boxster broken shifter cable. The 986, 987 and 987.2 have a severe issue with the shifter cable snapping. Extremely Happy Seriously, it feels like a new car now. Did the shifter and the cables. This is tied for top 3 mods I have done to my car. The difference is night and day. I installed it with the shortest throw possible. There are 3 options. So much tighter and more responsive. This is going to be so much more fun to drive. Extremely happy with this.
